About Raghuvir & Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School of Arts & Commerce

 About Us

The Chorao Educational Society was founded in the year 1970. Keeping in mind the agony faced by the students from Chorao to travel to far off places for further studies, it took a step forward and Raghuvir & Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School of Arts  Commerce was established in the year 1994. Mr. Premanand P. Mahambare, the then manager of Raghuvir & Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School of Arts  Commerce was in charge of the first academic year 1994-1995. Mr. Sumant  S. Kanyalkar joined in  as the first principal of the higher secondary in 1994 and remained in office until his retirement in the year 2014. Mr. Sandeep G. Sawal took over as the new principal in the same year.

Raghuvir & Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School of Arts  Commerce

Situated amidst a radiant island of Chorao, Raghuvir & Premavati Salkar Higher Secondary School was a brainchild of the son of the soil and the then President of Chorao Educational Society, Dr. Kashinath J. Mahale (Ex – Vice-Chancellor of Manipur University). It is a co-educational school recognised by the Directorate of Education, Government of Goa and affiliated to the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. It was started with an initiative to accommodate the students who aspired to make their career in the field of Arts & Commerce. Our institution focuses on the social, cultural and ethical upliftment of the pupils and assists them in moulding their future. It also stands as an epitome of growth and development in shaping the lives of thousands of pupils who have over the years achieved excellence and proficiency in various walks of life with the help of dedicated teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and management bringing an honour to the institution.

Students over the years have shown creditable performance in various sports events at the state as well as the national level besides achieving laurels in elocution, essay, quiz, monologue, poster, singing, and dance competitions at the state level. In academics too, we are climbing the ladder of progress. Our higher secondary school has achieved 100% results in both Arts and Commerce streams several times.
