A modest beginning was made in the year 1970 when a co-educational school from Std. I to Std. XI (S.S.C. at the time) was started. The then Chief Minister of Goa, Late Dayanand (Bhausaheb) Bandodkar who supported the cause permitted the school to function in a seven room Government Primary School building at a nominal rent. The school was named as Dayanand High School.

Chorao Educational Society’s Growth till today.................
The society acquired a 3000 sq.m. plot of land from Comunidade of Chorao in the year 1986 and completed the high school building in 1994. Two more blocks, one each for Higher Secondary School –Library and meeting hall were constructed in 2002, thanks to the financial support in the form of grants and loan from the Directorate of Education, a loan from the Bicholim Urban Co-operative Bank and donors.

Ninety per cent of the students attending our schools are from OBC, ST and SC categories from poor and lower middle income groups families.

The society supports children from the under privileged background by way of facilitating scholarships, fee concessions, books & stationery through government as well as private initiatives.

English Medium of Instruction is in demand..........
The parents, by and large, are interested to give education in English medium. Since our English medium pre-primary and primary school is unaided all the expenses have to be borne by the Management by charging fees. Considering the economic background high fees cannot be charged. We welcome your support.

We welcome any kind of support..........................
To support our aim of providing holistic all round development an
d quality education we have some Future plans & projects. We solicit your support to join our effort.
